Methven Primary Parent Council is a group made up of parents and teachers who meet 4 times a year.
These meetings are an opportunity for parents to liaise with the school and discuss any issues. Although we have a formal agenda it is a very relaxed and friendly meeting. We also coordinate fund raising for the school. Every school needs to have help through fund raising to give our children the best we can offer within the school.
This year so far we have contributed financially towards school trips, educational visits from outside bodies, parties and have made class donations (for teachers to buy extra items for the class use). In previous sessions we have bought larger school equipment e.g. projector, new cooker and laminator.
As well as financial contribution the council also donate their time to organising and running fund raising events. This fundraising helps to keep the cost of trips down and enables the school to provide extra opportunities and experiences for our children.
We are always looking for new members with new ideas and energy! Our meetings are very informal and welcoming. Even if you cannot attend meetings, maybe you have an idea for a fund raiser that you would like to organise. We are always happy to help. Also, if you have a subject you would like raised at any of our meetings please email myself or drop off a note at the school office F.A.O parent council.
